I've never seen suitings like that... I certainly want (at least) one of those! The Terracota Chalk stripe looks absolutely fabulous! Would make an amazing 20's suit...

It also appears they are introducing another range from July:
Fox's British Khakee 100% cotton collection...

apparently Fox were involved in the very first production of Khaki (but in wool serge rather than cotton).

i think the red and cream on dark brown ( third from bottom) may even be too bold when made up, and might stray into comedy-chalkstripe-gangster territory.\

i really like that one too colour wise. sometimes those rope stripes can look a bit 70s though. hard to tell from that photo alone.

from the page linked above these are my faves. have to say, these are probably the best modern suitings i've seen, and the closest to 30s British flannels.
Michael Alden should be congratulated. just a pity they're so damned expensive.

got these Bedford cord samples from H.E. Box Ltd.

seriously heavy 32-34 oz, £39 a metre:

to be honest, i really wish it was more like this French hunting cord (don't know the exact cord name). the two colour weave gives it a richness that i think makes it my favourite cord so far. haven't ever found any unused yardage for sale though:

What would you use it for? I was a bit disappointed when they told me they only have Bedford cord in 32 oz. I was hoping to get some for trousers, but this seems a bit too heavy.

traditionally... riding breeches, but at 32 oz it seems too heavy. i didn't realise it was quite that heavy when i ordered the swatches.
plus i'm not into the colours.

I'd be interested in that cloth. I'd like to compare it to the Bedford Cord trousers I had made years ago. They were damn heavy and seemed to be the top two colours. One pair only wore out this year and I think I'd been wearing them since the 1990s.

Winter trousers in the white/cream would make me rather happy.

I have a pair of Swedish army trousers in a Bedford cord-ish fabric that I snipped the hem and measured up to 28 Oz. They are astonishingly heavy … almost unwearable in any but the coldest of winds.

Well, I thought it would be around 22 oz or so. That would make for some heavy duty work trousers. But 32 oz? Probably bulletproof, but I like to be able to bend my legs while walking.
