let's see some vintage short wool jackets !
these are usually zip-up but please post buttoning jackets too.
no Mackinaws please, they already have two threads ... i'm talking about the aviation / military / motorcycle inspired 'windbreaker' shorties.
(if anyone knows a better name than 'windbreaker' let's hear it).

this sort of thing (these are saved from ebay, not mine):

Aero have done the "Waterfront" for a while now, but have never expanded this range, so I guess it is not so popular as their leather offerings.

I keep fancying one - I'm sure I've seen a red one, which would be perfect.:D;)

I've had one of these for a few years, and I love it. Superb wool. I think the new mixed leather/ wool halfbelts are a step in that direction; maybe they will do more textile stuff soon. I certainly would like to see it.

What a great thread....some of those jackets are really nice. I too like the new wool/leather combos.....waterfront is nice in green...isnt there a reversable one they were doing?

Here are some of these jackets worn in vintage pictures. I really don't know where I found them but Rivethead and Shorpy have the best pics.
Sometimes I wasn't sure if some of the jackets may be cotton or even leather (?) but just from the style they could be wool.

Here's that King-O-Wear jacket from the other thread that I sold recently.

Also, I recently picked up a reproduction short work jacket in two tone black and blue melton I found at Viva Las Vegas. Right now I am working on "fixing" some details on that jacket (replacing zippers, contemplating sewing a half belt in the back).

Interesting. The guy is wearing his hat backwards. Quite a short brim, too.

Looks like a candidate for a caption competition...

I think the tall guy is saying "Hey man! Your hat looks better on me, even when it's back to front!!"

:D;)
