That was a concept that didn't catch on. They didn't realize that milk isn't an impulse item -- nobody ever walks by on a hot day and thinks "hey, you know, a cup of cold milk would really hit the spot." The product could stay in a vending machine for days unless it was regularly serviced. Too expensive to maintain, too much wasted product = a flop concept.
Ho-Jos.

Especially if it's Tuesday and she just polished off her all-you-can-eat clams. She gets it: Hot day, HoJo's cone, standing in the parking lot - life doesn't get much better.
That would be a hard one to pass by without stopping. The Tamale.

now if it dispensed Oreo or chocolate chip cookies as well we might have had a hit! That was a concept that didn't catch on. my apologies, did not see your post on this. Now, if they had also sold small packages of Oreos out of the same machine, it might just have worked.

Amazingly enough, given Los Angeles' history of destroying its past, this place still exists at 6421 Whittier Blvd, East LA. You can get your hair done here but you'd probably be hard pressed to find a tamale these days. The Tamale.
