I'm really liking the collar on this Monarch. Monarch was a premier maker of leather outerwear for many years. Well know for their military jackets.

I have this civilian A2 in horsehide, without the collar. These jackets are early 1950s.

A recent purchase. Vintage 1950s Monarch in steerhide. This was a very popular style for the company, in production throughout the 40s and into the mid 50s. The earliest edition had buckle adjustment, later have the gathered sides.

Very nicely Tailored for a excellent fit.

Yeah both the jackets I got are familiar styles/manufacturers to me but I’ve never found them in my size until now. Due to being tall I find that most jackets in my normal size of 42 from this era have shorter arms than I need.

That black windward is very cool. Mine is steerhide, not horsehide though.

Would you mind to provide the exact measurements of the back? (upper backpanel, belt, kidney panel)

Also it seems that sidepanel is flared out, so that the back appears to be trim. I like that a lot, could you measure the width of the sidepanel? (top, middle, bottom)

Last thing: the length of the slash pockets and the breast Pocket, as the ratio seems ideal to me.

I was asked to provide measurements of the Albert Richard I posted earlier in this thread.

In terms of leather and construction quality it's the most luxurious vintage halfbelt I've ever handled.
Thanks Marc! What does wear like? Is there anything to consider when asking Greg to mold this to his pattern?

And I forgot to ask if there is a front drop. Looks like it, but I am not sure how much.

The pattern is great but there is no way of copying that unless one has the jacket in hands.

Front drop on the Albert Richard is 1 inch. Personally I'd opt for more front drop for a FL jacket because the fronts of their jackets tend to rise up a bit. My latest FL Aviator has a 2.25"front drop

A 40s (I think) half belt, unknown maker. Made of cowhide as far as I can tell. Don't know much else about it other than Bill Kelso make a replica of it, and there's a similar one in the US with glued on patches, and the suggestion by the owner is that it's a WWII bomb squadron jacket. The person I bought this from suggested it might have been a pilot-style jacket for civilian use.
