Apart from the overall design, I love that button-hiding placket; I've never seen it done in leather before. Had been somewhat common on cloth jackets of the era meant for hunters to prevent the buttons catching on pack straps or gun slings, and I suppose also for the additional wind/rain protection.

I can't wait for the episode of TFL where Thedi, JL, Aero, Field, Himel, et al. journey to Illinois to gather together at Terry's Archive for further study, to the benefit of us all.

Yes. I’m psyched. T-shirt only fit tho. But I made it.

There is one loose stitch in the armpit. Tough to find and I got the jacket for a great price so I will not make a fuss with the seller (not my go-to move anyways). It’ll go to Dena at some point after the holidays. I bet that JL is swamped right now too. Otherwise good to go.

I hit the applause button, Beautiful and a bargain! Yes, bargains do sweeten even a sweet deal.

Right in the late 40s Sweet Spot. (sorry for all the Sweets)

There are many top brands in leather outside of Detroit. This is a perfect example of what you can own for pretty cheap.

Knowledge is King. and you knew who this was. I think that is great. There are old gems out there if you have the eye.

Removable throat latch like the early Kurland/sportclads, Transitional Talon with no Talon down the middle, pre-Nylon Wool lining. Deep rich Horsehide.

The recent ebay jacket confirms these were made with no Wolfe label. Sold through various small outlets that didn't even have a store label to install.

While reviewing the jacket, I did question where the heck the Wolf label would go. Based on the Guidemaster jackets that have that label, the HH label on this one is too high for the large Wolf label to even fit.

Some differences between the Fidelity and Guidemaster. Similar style but with some notable differences:

The nylon Guidemaster sleeves are like the Fidelity. All are two piece sleeves.

The shape of belt and where it is attached along the bottom hem of the jacket is different.

I’ll post pictures of the main zip next. Both are more perpendicular than other x zips but the Guidemaster is almost straight up with a slight curve as it nears the top.

I do think this Guidemaster is higher quality, but the Fidelity fits me better with a slightly bigger P2P. This Guidemaster is one of the largest I’ve seen too. They just don’t come around often.

I have one Sierra Sportswear jacket. Few of this label show up, and this is the only MC style jacket I have seen with this label. I have seen Sierra advertised, in a bay area newspaper, along with other Californian makers. That advertisement made me re-think Sierra Sportswear from a label to a maker. Very few of their jackets show up.

This is one of my favorites..Very nice, deep rich, horsehide. I've owned this jacket for several years. I recall I paid a significant price for this beauty, at least at the prices a few years back.
