Something isn't right here. I'm guessing at some point, this was a cool Tiki place with the clean looking (and boring) "cocktails" sign having been put in later. The original sign was probably darn cool:


Also not sure what's going in here -were's the bar / cocktail lounge? But at least it has a Tiki / Polynesian theme:

⇧ Very much a SGF and my type of place. Shame they are all fading away nowadays.

NYC lost one to a fire a few years back - an odd combination (and a quirky architectural mess of a place) of coffee shop/diner, slightly nicer room for "dining" and a solid if oddly located bar.

Now it's a boring condo tower fully sold out to Chinese and Russian investors which sits empty as the buyers were just looking to stash money out of their one-party countries.
