Sorry, that sounded a bit preachy. It's an interesting history for sure, and if you've read up on it you are possibly more knowledgeable than I.Not in cork, but I've family there. My dad was born there. I live in Dublin, grew up here but was born in London and I've lived elsewhere. Oddly my brother moved back to cork relatively recently. History is complicated. My grandfather can be written as a hero, but nobody ever mentions the fate of the cockney he stole the uniform from, or written as someone who wouldn't inoculate his children against disease because god. History is generally written by an editorial team employed by those benefitted by talkative survivors gaining. The real history contained in the white space between the type. The facts don't change but are lost.
