Was hoping to get an update today about the jacket build being finished because it's pretty much the same timeframe others have mentioned. But alas. I think with time zone difference, London is done for the day. Maybe next week. It's all good though. The little extra time allowed me to sell some jackets and really hone in on what might be missing now. Think it all came together pretty well and I'm lined up for this jacket season with a nice surprise coming this time next year. Now we'll see if I can resist the urge for any pop up deals or jeez, that Dominator still keeps calling me LOL.

Week 3 and still no sign ;-)
Possibly the order number represents the calendar week of production? Then my jacket would come in calendar week 42 to the row. lol

same situation for me. Kills my morning to check emails and not see one from them. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks since approval. There was a bank holiday in the mix and Rip had a personal day off I think. So that might have thrown off timing. Relatively speaking, it's fine, but I definitely got tainted by the reports of others of having such quick turnaround. I can't imagine a flood of orders came in in that short time frame, so hoping for some good news next handful of days.

My order is LLW43, so maybe you're on to something with the week number as I ordered I think a day or two after you.

I visited the Stronghold today to try on some Lewis jackets. They didn’t have my size in a Dominator, but the 42 was too big...although hard to tell if it was 1 or 2 sizes up. They had a cool 2-tone cross-zip that looked silly on me, and the Corsair in a 38 looked like a woman’s jacket due to it’s short length...if you happen to be 42-50 or a 36 they seem to be selling everything off.

Not a lot of character to the leather. I'm guessing this is cowhide. Some scratches and abrasions from improper storage, but the arms on this had never been bent.

Yes, still waiting here too - has anyone contacted LL to see what the current estimate is or is it the standard 10-12 weeks?

Yep. I contacted Rip on weds. He said no updates but on paper I had another 5-7 weeks.

Waiting to order even those few days really bumped up the times. Maybe they working on their store stock supply. Can't imagine a flood of custom orders came through.

Hoping they under promised and going to over deliver.

Hi guys I contacted Lewis for the veg-tan horsehide that mentioned by couple of members in this thread.

They are still experimenting this veg-tan horsehide so they are not yet available for customer order. They will be receiving more black veg tan horse in 3 months time. They've been experimenting with brown, navy, burgundy and dark green colours. According to Lewis the veg tan horse looks very similar to the veg tan cow. However the veg tan cow leather is teacore and the underlayer is a biscuit colour which will start coming through with time and shows up on raw cut seams. The Veg Tan Horse is dyed black all the way through. Lily also attached a leather swatch photo.

That’s great to hear! I loved the look of the veg-tan cow but the beige under-layer had me concerned that it would end up being a fast-ageing jacket.

Man, I miss the @Pandemic 15 day delivery. Seems forever I’ve been looking forward to this jacket.
LOL. No kidding. I bet we got stuck behind a bunch of retail orders. There's no way that many people from here all of sudden bought jackets to move the timeline from 2 weeks to 12 LOL. Although who knows. Could also be some issues with covid--supply line, staff, etc.

OK so, at the risk of drawing the ire of the other FL members who I know are waiting patiently for their LL jackets, yesterday the despatch email from mine arrived unexpectedly.

I'm going to waffle a bit now, so if you just want to see some pics please do scroll downwards haha.

I had a few back and forth exchanges with Rip at LL, who seems extremely well informed and helpful ( this provides sharp contrast to the usual retail experience here in the UK), and we settled on measurements for the final jacket. Just about 8 weeks passed, during which I got nervous about the jacket I had signed off and hoped I hadn't screwed it up. Fast forward to today and my jacket arrived, and to say I'm pleased is an understatement.

The jacket arrived beautifully packed and presented, with a nice note attached, and a cool LL poster to boot. The jacket itself is a 402 Lightning made of sheepskin, and the first things which stuck me was how soft and supple, but substantial, the leather was. I nervously put it on, and it was as comfortable as pair of pyjamas honestly - a big change from past experiences with CXL and even Shinki. I like the fit, it needed a little extra length as I'm 6'2, but I dont think it commits the cardinal sin of being too long for a proper cross zip fit. The first set of photos are from the unboxing and first time I tried it on, and the second half are after the British weather kindly obliged and I went for a walk in the rain. It looks like this leather picks up some character very quickly when exposed to water. Anyway, enough talk, here's some pics - apologies for their slightly overbearing size.

You got yourself a very nice collection of jackets, and this one´s no exception. Perfect fit and obviously a timeless choice of model!

that's awesome. Look at the sleeve creases already. If you're at 8 weeks, then I should be coming up pretty soon unless there's issues with the green batches. We'll see. Congrats. What length did you go with? I think that's just about perfect and hoping mine comes out to be about the same.

Ha yes, an absolute natural in front of the camera - one day I'll work out how to pull a different pose

I cant remember exactly, but I followed the video tutorials to take my measurements and I think I was quoted a 27" length including the elongated kidney panel bit - I wasnt sure about this as it did sound a bit long, but Rip was pretty sure that this was the correct number - I guess the message is to trust Rip to know what he's doing as I think it turned out great and on wearing stops pretty much exactly where I want this type of jacket to stop. Yeah the creasing was a pleasant surprise - the period of time between the 1st and 2nd set of photos was only about an hour and a half.
