I've been after one for a year now... stay patient. It's a pity @ton312 let his herd go free!

I've an Enfield in comp weight leather and love it .. I'm after one of these 44/46 if anyone comes across something

I think the jackets v price point can't be beaten especially in the heavy leather

At $700-$800 new I’m tempted to just buy one. Vanson is out of stock in 40 & 42 unquilted (rayon) lining now though.

The Vanson Thunderbird also is nice. Or also be on the lookout for a Bates Highwayman, that’s nice too.

C2 is 2” shorter across the size range. Additionally, it’s not equipped with snaps for a faux mouton collar and no side laces. The back is closer to a model B, without the buckles. Biggest thing is the body length though. It’s deliberately shorter.

Oh, thanks. The 2” shorter will never work, I have a long torso.

Man!
I really really want that jacket, but my brain is telling me that if a size 46 Vanson fits me perfectly a size 44 Vanson is going to be too small...
It looks like it fits the same as a Chopper, and mine fits true to size. It's like a Chopper and a Model E had a love child together. It'd be even better with a belt.

Yep, that is a really good deal! As good as it gets, short of it being one of those crazy listings where people don't have a clue what they're selling. Anyone after a Vanson crosszip should jump on it. Interesting hide, too.

VANSON LEATHERS $699 hand made in USA Black Leather Motorcycle Jacket 44 Large https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/173809408387

Hah, it is a C2.... the forum went down today and didn’t even see this message and I already spotted this on eBay.

I messaged the seller immediately. Not a fan of the nickel? chrome? Buckle as well as the pocket zipper pulls seem to be mismatched.

She claims her husband outgrew it and it’s only 3 years old, last season it sat in a closet. Doesn’t exactly check out and if you look at the seller history there’s a ton of leather jackets.

Nitpickiness aside, that is a great jacket. Pit to pit she said was 22” then I asked for a picture and it’s ~23”, so certainly a more vintage model as the age of the leather clearly shows.

I worked out a price.......

I spent this afternoon at a local motorcycle shop and tried on a C2R (R being a special satin lined variant with mid-weight leather and chrome hardware that was done up for this shop).

Ultimately I think I’m just going to purchase a brand new Model E, with rayon lining, and all brass hardware. I already let my contact and Vanson know, will be 5 weeks.

The C2 is a tad shorter than the E, it doesn’t have adjustable sides, I don’t want quilted interior ideally, and the mismatched hardware triggers my OCD.

I’ll be better off this way. :)

Out of curiosity, do the Vanson jackets come with pockets/provisions for armor? I'm finding a lot of leather "Motorcycle" jackets are distinctly lacking the ability to install armor for riding...it's rather annoying.

A few of them do, such as Comet, A, and Force. Vanson’s website has a tab to select to view only armored jackets, both installed and ready to accept.
