Vancouver Army Surplus?

Hi all,

New to the Vancouver area and recently began searching for an RAF Greatcoat (or similar) I really don't want to have to order from the U.K (simpler to deal locally) and I was wondering for anyone had any search tips for the Vancouver area, such as particular shops that would likely sell this. Online tips dealing within Canada or the US would be helpful as well

Welcome to FL. Wasn't the post war (1950s) RCAF greatcoat the same as the RAF? The reason I ask is that the RNZAF one was and back home in NZ can still be picked up for a good price. I would have thought it was the same for the RCAF one and therefore would still pop up at army surplus places and secondhand shops in Canada.

I'd have a good shufti online, that should turn something up.

hey thanks for the tip- I'm going to be searching around the city today; I could see something from the RCAF much easier to find.

I was in Vancouver last year, there are 3 or 4 army surplus stores around Vancouver.

I can't remember exactily which were any good, I found them in yellow pages.

A lot of them have mainly modern repros but they are all worth a bit of a dig around as some still have a few rails of 'real' army surplus.

I recall NORTH Vancouver havign really great second hand shops. Try your luck.

Thanks for all the tips. I drove all over the place today and unfortunatly wore out all the resources. Oh well; I'll keep looking
