Another way of putting it: "...the girl who runs, runs after a man who runs faster!"

-Emily Post, Etiquette, 1940, p. 374.

:eusa_clap :eusa_clap lol

pigeon toe. I noticed it and wondered if anyone else would. These gentlemen got carried away with love in the air and became a little randy. I am sure they didn't mean to be so obvious. :p

A young mans fancy comes to mind but the thing is one day they will meet one that makes them stop in their tracks and turn to mush... lol
Nothing ever, ever new under the sun.
Caity Lynn has so figured it out.

Uh...am I the only one who is rubbed the wrong way by reading this? "Vulnerable bimbo" (whatever that means!) or not, women should never be treated as prey.

Well said pigeon toe and thank you for apologizing donCarlos.

My two cents: taking advantage of people is never a gentlemanly or ladylike thing to do. Just because many people feel that way doesn't mean one should act on those feelings. Also, what goes around comes around.

"Of course, intelligent and emancipated women will never agree with this attitude, but many men just have it and there´s nothing you can do about it."

Except avoid them like the plague!

Yesterday I was a vision covered in hearts, pretty in pink with ruby red lips, a sweater girl in a swirling skirt. I danced all night at the swing club; I went out alone (a first!), talked to strangers, made new friends, danced with many men, flirted madly with one in particular, and ended up walking home alone and crying my eyes out.

Surely...

"Better to have loved and lost, than not have loved 'at all.."

I so hope that 'all of us' can 'rise above' feeling a victim (which sadly is how lost love or 'not finding' love or feeling 'used' can leave a person feeling [huh] ).

But unless you 'make the effort' of putting yourself out there to meet other people (whether that's through sports, social circles, shared hobbies..etc), then one does narrow the chances of meeting a partner (if that's what you want - as some folk are quite rightly content with their own company and cat/dog/goldfish).

But it also comes with 'risk' where one does leave themselves open/vulnerable to getting hurt, but also the rewards can be 'great' too.

I'm not sure what the right answer is folks :)

That is the truth.

Kissing, it turns out, unleashes chemicals that ease stress hormones in both sexes and encourage bonding in men, though not so much in women.

Chemicals in the saliva may be a way to assess a mate, Wendy Hill, dean of the faculty and a professor of neuroscience at Lafayette College, told a meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science on Friday.

In an experiment, Hill explained, pairs of heterosexual college students who kissed for 15 minutes while listening to music experienced significant changes in their levels of the chemicals oxytocin, which affects pair bonding, and cortisol, which is associated with stress. Their blood and saliva levels of the chemicals were compared before and after the kiss.

Both men and women had a decline in cortisol after smooching, an indication their stress levels declined.

For men, oxytocin levels increased, indicating more interest in bonding, while oxytocin levels went down in women. "This was a surprise," Hill said.

It's a good day if you:
a) are in love
b) the person loves you back
c) you have enough money to buy that person something.
Last year I spent over $150 on hubby, buying him jewellery, a cd, chocs etc.
This year I spent about $20 all up n that was just on the makings of dinner and a msg in our local papers Book of Love. I made his card. Last year he liked his gifts, this year he cried. You dont need lots of money to make someone happy.

Otherwise, Valentine's day sucks. Personally, I've always despised the holiday. Teddy Bears are useless...why can't guys give good gifts for valentines day? Something useful, like an alarm clock that plays a CD when you wake up. That would be cool.
Hubby bought me a pair of zebra print cats eyes from these guys. With no prompting from me. Pretty cool gift me thinks.

Well, the girl who I was going to ask didn't even show up to class, so I was unable to ask her to go to the Masquerade Dance with me. I went anyways, with a group of friends, and had plenty of fun. I wore a mask I had made myself, formed out of leather and hand painted, which impressed everyone who looked at it, and wore my vintage Knox 100 lid. Hopefully I'll be able to track down a couple of the pictures taken of me, heheh.
