Staight bees wax would not be advisable on a jacket. It must be heated to apply and gets hard again when it cools so not good for a flexible garment like a jacket. It would need to be cut with a fat or oil. You would then need to add an essential oil scent to hide the bad smell. Good for boots and book covers but not jackets. Picards and other similar products does it all for you.

Probably the best solvent for beeswax is natural turpentine - not turps substitute or white spirit - natural turps is expensive and smells like vic vapour rub you can get it from art supplies shops. I used to make furniture polish by cheese grating beeswax into a jug of natural turpentine in a jug in a hot water bath ( Bain marie) - no naked flames as turps is volatile and flammable. I've used this polish on shoes but I'd never use it on a jacket. You can make it into a cream furniture polish by adding the turps based polish to its own volume of pure soapy water( use pure soap flakes e.g. Lux). I'd never use this on a jacket either. Google beeswax polish natural turpentine for recipes.

This will be the first time using Pecard's. I ordered the antique dressing and the black motorcycle leather dressing. The black will be used to cover up some blemishes. Hope this stuff is as good as everyone says!!
I used the Pecard's black dressing on the Vanson model B that I burnt on the pipes and it covered it up nicely. It is not noticeable, except to me in the rite light. The antique dressing also did a great job on an old cafe' that was dried out and had a whitish look to it. It brought the color back and it is much softer. I can say now that I also recommend Pecard's !!
