I saw it, and I loved it.

Even the cheesy script.

Keep in mind I am frequently disappointed- I didn't like 300 at all. Poor pacing, shallow development.

It was a coming of age story the way a teenage boy wants it to be- geek hold secret key to saving the world and gets the girl.

It was well paced, not overdeveloped, generally a very successful movie.

Also, did anyone else notice or care that the troops were wearing multi-cam?

Oh yes, but he's well experienced in roles of not liking humans nonetheless. :p

Still, he's nothing compared to Frank Welker. Nothing. Just a recognizable name who brings nothing to the role. Whereas Mr. Welker is Megatron.

I enjoyed the movie, but thought it went a bit overboard on the product placement.

Chevy and GMC were basically the 'good guy' cars, and everytime a car was crushed or destroyed really slowly or clearly it was a BMW.
Add in the mountain dew, and xbox, among many many other things I noticed, and it was just a little over the top.

what's multi-cam (I havn't seen the movie, so it might be one of those easily answered dumb questions had I seen it)

Not a dumb question at all. Even if you had seen it, you may not have noticed.

Long story, but it's what our boys (and girls) SHOULD be wearing, instead of that gawd awful digi-cam/ACU crap.

Here's a link or two. Multi-cam is the pattern, Crye Precision is the company that made the gear- plate carriers, pouches, and what not. Other companies make gear in that pattern as well, like SKD Tactical.

Easily my favorite camo pattern of all time. Word is it is actually seeing deployment and the Army may be switiching over.

Not a great movie, but better than I expected it to be walking in ...

Did anyone else notice how often a Transformer who was already with the group was suddenly missing .. just so (for the sake of being more dramatic) they could show up halfway through the fight? I hate little glitches like that.

Well, according to the website you show it has at least been tested by the Army. The current ACU pattern is only touted as a temporary solution. I really like what I'm seeing, and the pictures look even better than the digital camo shots I've seen. I think the pattern is more realistic because it's made of smaller shapes rather than big, blotchy spots like the 1980s woodland.

Was this what the Air Force guys were wearing? I assumed they were just wearing regular woodland/desert because... well... they're in the Air Force.

Oh it was certainly tested, side by side with the digi-cam/ACU pattern. Supposedly 'politics' made the multi-cam lose.

I believe the airforce guys were wearing ACU and/or DCU, but I only saw the movie once and they were playing it fast and loose with units and affiliations, i believe.

Nope, they were wearing MultiCam. It seems to fit pretty well, oddly, even though there's no way they'd be wearing that now. Here's a shot from the Crye website.

Of course, there were soldiers wearing black BDUs and carrying first generation M16s in The Matrix... lol

I felt we were too close to the robots during their fights. I suppose that was the same reason we were. To feel as if they were right on top of us. The movie was good for a "blockbuster".

I'd like to see side-by-sides with the better CADPAT and MARPAT designs.

Comparing a camo pattern with Woodland is sort of like taking on your grandma in armwrestling. :D

Well, in her day, MY grandma could kick your....:p

Agreed, the website puts up against the wrwong competitor, but I still prefer its organic shapes that are more disruptive than the smal digi patterns- they just read as grey from a few yard out, IMHO.

C'mon, it's the GUCCI cam!

I won't mind seeing this at all! Looks like a fun romp full of escapism. People better not have problems with CGI since there isn't a movie out there that doesn't use it. Even in titles with that schmuck Hugh Grant flouncing around the screen they make all sorts of backgrounds with CGI.

I have found it funny that people have made statements before like "I could tell it was CGI in King Kong!" Well duh, what giant ape and dinosaur "real" footage can you compare it with?lol lol
