Tim Gunn steals Bravo job from five queer guys
Posted Jan 14th 2007 12:12PM by Annie Wu

I'm very pleased to share the news that Tim Gunn has signed a deal with Bravo to bring his fashion expertise to his very own makeover show. The program will be based around his upcoming book, Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste & Style (set for May release). Gunn has promised to use the program to re-define "makeovers", which sounds like a pretty bold statement to make. But, then again, this is the all-mighty Tim Gunn. I have no reason to doubt the man. All hail Tim Gunn.

While this is all lovely, I can't help but feel a wee bit bad that this announcement was made just as Bravo canceled their hit makeover program Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (which was fantastic, but eventually exhausted). Looks like Gunn has to fill five very flamboyant shoes as Bravo's new makeover guy.

Gunn's presence in the next season of Project Runway still has yet to be confirmed, but at least we know that the worst case scenario will be that he'll only be on one program, not two.

Talk about coincidence. The Mrs. and I were just outside of Parsons and discussing Mr Gunn and his future with Project Runway.
Is he going to host a new season of P.R.?
I am not surprised Bravo cancelled "Queen Eye". It was fun for a show or two but quickly lost its charm as the fellas pranced about making everyone look essentially the same. Boring.

After Mr. Gunn's disparaging remarks about non homosexuals in the fashion industry (and being a student of fashion hearing from someone like him I have no place in it because I'm straight and apparently clueless and tasteless) I really just can't get excited about him having a new show, and it kind of put a damper on the last PR.

Hurrah! Great news! I think Tim will be a great host--he was very charming pinch hitting on Regis (thanks You Tube).

Queer Eye should have only run for 1 year--great premise that quickly wore out it's welcome. Although when it was good it was very very good--I still laugh about Carson comparing one of the early guys to John Wayne Gacy.

I agree he is a silly twit. Because my wife enjoys certain shows I have seen them by default.
I would not waste an evening watching something based on the Tim Gunn perspective. :)

New article on TimGunn
gunn4.395.jpg

snip:
last month, Mr. Gunn was lured away from Parsons, where he began working as an admissions director in 1983, to become chief creative officer of Liz Claiborne Inc., one of the nation’s largest apparel companies. At the executive level, Mr. Gunn will serve as a voice for the roughly 350 designers employed by Claiborne’s 45 brands, a role the company has likened to a creative dean.

And he will continue to appear on “Project Runway,” which will return late this year.

I enjoyed the article. I was surprised he was such an insecure child--stuttering and introverted--since he's so self assured as an adult. Glad he finally signed for Season 4 of Project Runway also; the show wouldn't be the same without him.

God, I love Tim Gunn. I want him to be my gay husband! He reminds me of my favorite history teacher in high school. I just love the way he speaks, he's so witty.

Yes, I spent a lot of time trying to work "sturm und drang" into conversation lol

And I'm glad I'm not the only one with gay husbands (Anderson Cooper, you've been moved onto this list)
