Yes! I've seen tie-dye novelties listed in vintage catalogues around the turn of the forties, but I always figured they went back even further given how simple it is to make them. Thanks for digging this up!

As a teenager, I used to wear a lot of tie-dyed t shirts; actually, i made a fair few myself which I then wore to various festivals. I'm now toying with the idea of acquiring a large pack of plain white cotton pocket squares and setting to them with string and dye....

Feraud, I adore that tie: if I knew how to replicate that efect, I'd certainly be giving it a go!
