This is my first post on here. I'm in the process of purchasing an Aero jacket through Thurston and am having a tough time deciding on the leather. I haven't found any responses to the above post from way back on page 6 of this thread. Is Vicenza a finished leather, meaning it won't darken and develop the patina shown in the photos of the wallets on that page?Veg. hide darkens when it is untreated/unfinished. Like those wallets shown earlier. Veg. tanned hides made for jackets are finished and will age like you want them.

I love how natural veg tanned leather ages. You get these dark honey colors where the leather gets lots of sunlight and the really light areas on places that never see the sun. Then there are all the shades between. #aeroleatherclothing #thurstonbros #vicenzahorsehide#naturalvegtannedleather #leatherjacket

Thanks Carrie! The Natural Vicenza color (as opposed to the other Vicenza colors) will darken and patina significantly with wear, much like the wallets in veg-tanned leather. There's no dye added to it, so it's a blank canvas for imprinting everything--sun exposure, rain, oils from skin and the environment, etc.! The other Vicenza colors will change as well, but the effect varies depending on the color...the darker the color, the less obvious the change will be.
This Vicenza Horsehide Dustbowl has about 1.5 years of wear on it...the veg-tanned horsehide was pretty smooth when the jacket was delivered to its owner...the grain really popped with time and wear (really zoom in to see how the Vicenza Horsehide ages)!

We've started re-photographing some of our Featured Stock jackets that were done with our old lighting set-up. We wanted to see what this would do to some of the non-traditional colors like blue, olive and cream! Here's a Sunburst in Blue Vicenza that has the new lighting and the result is much closer to how this beautiful color looks in person!
