We delivered an Aero Indian Ranger just a week ago to one of our customers...an absolutely beautiful jacket! The fit is just a tad larger than the Aero J106, which we use as our fit jacket for the Aero Indian Ranger style. With a bit of luck, our customer who took possession of his Aero Indian Ranger last week will post up photos!

Seeing this jacket worn would be most awesome! Thanks, Carrie!

Edward, I've asked Aero about it and they've told me that the Indian Ranger is a slightly longer jacket, but other than that, the fit is essentially the same.

Carrie, when you say the Aero Indian Ranger is just a touch larger than the J106, do you mean it's wider at the waist? Would it be three or four inches more generous in the waist than the Aero MC? The latter is a great fit in the body for me in my regular size, but at the bottom it's tighter (by about 2"!) than a same-size Thirties Halfbelt, which is otherwise neater all over!

Both the Aero Indian Ranger and the Aero Motorcycle Jacket can be quite small in the waist. It's best to include the bottom hem circumference that you need when placing your order.

Another great Aero Fontana Racer...

Do you need to alter the size of a jacket (i.e.: Size up) if you want to wear an armour shirt under it?

Yes...for the armored shirts you need to size up one size in the motorcycle jackets to accommodate the armor.

...this East Coast customer loves his new Insurrection / Thurston Bros. Thedi Cafe' Racer in Horsehide! Very cool shots...

We've found that a really good way to go is the Vanson Model B or Model B House Jacket with either an Alpinestars Bionic Pro Jacket or Knox Venture Shirt underneath for armored protection. We also carry the Forcefield Pro Shirt, but the armor is very bulky...a tad too much for the street. We carry both the Vanson Model B and Model B House Jackets in standard and long sizes (the long sizes are great for our customers who are 6'0" and taller!). I've attached photos below of the elongated Vanson Model B and Model B House Jackets as well as our Alpinestars Bionic Pro Jacket that goes underneath. Keep in mind that we stock standard Vanson Model Bs and Model B House jackets as well!

We're also an Alpinestars dealer and the Alpinestars GP Tech and Atem Jackets are amazing! If you want your armor integrated into the jacket, these are great choices! We're a participant in the Alpinestars "Perfect Fit" program, so we know we'll get you the perfect Alpinestars fit!!!

Hi Carrie, I do something similar right now with my non-armored jackets - wear a Bohn armor shirt underneath my non-armored jackets when hitting the highways. It's fine most times, although wearing it under my new heavy HH jacket is quite restrictive (do have to break down the jacket more too). Also being colder now I'll have more layers under my jacket and it becomes a hassle to have one more layer to deal with when I reach my destination - nice to have armor in the jacket itself and not be bothered with an extra layer. On the other hand, armored jacket is less practical for everyday wear when off the bike. SO ... options, options options!!! The Bohn shirt is probably not as low profile as the Alpinestar, probably also not as protective, probably time to upgrade :)

Anyways, you're posting pics of so many top jackets, don't know where to start. The Aero half-belt in brown with two straight chest pocket, man, I NEED that one, don't have anything in that style at present. The Vanson House is so neat - those stripes on the sleeves give it just that extra pop without overwhelming it, sweet! And customer pics of Thedi looking good!

I want one of those belts sooooo bad! Pretty much the coolest belts (in the less flashy dept) on the block. Do they feature Chicago screws in case I wanna swap out the buckle at some point?

They are great looking belts. Possible to post them on the Thurston Bros. website? I couldn't find them there.

The buckles are riveted, but the rivets can be easily replaced with screws...we have the screws in stock!

We'll get the belts up on the website ASAP...we just need to get some good photos!

This Aero Dustbowl for one of our customers turned out awesome...great grey Alpaca Wool liner!

Carrie I know you like close-ups but can you also add a wider shot so we can see the jacket front and back, that would be great.

Very nice belts. It's unbelievably hard to find good belts these days without tracking down specialists.....

Try Leather Goods Connection. I have six of their belts (rangers and jeans) and they're all beautifully made. Prices are reasonable, you can pretty much custom-design them, and they ship out in less than a week. Nice people, too.

In the near future, after Christmas bonuses most likely, I am wanting to purchase an Aero M422A. I've read here that Aero is not as keen on customizations as they use to be. Nothing extreme, but I was hoping to spec one out very similar to what JanSolo had done a few years back. Below there should be a link to his thread.

Couple questions:
Is Aero still using the same goat skin that they were using back then? I love ho much character his jackets in goat had from the start and the thickness of leather they had.
Is there a way of adding hand warmers to the pockets without effecting the shape of the jacket? Not sure if I phrased that correctly, but I live in Alaska and everytime I have a jacket without hand warmers I severely miss them. I like the nice trim look of the jacket and am not sure if adding hand warmers to the flap pockets to the flap pockets will make the belly bellow out at all.

I would doubt that there are any hides at any shop that go back to 2008. I know that from what I've seen, things can change very quickly, so if you're going to pull the trigger, contact them for a sample. That's the only way to even get close. And remember, samples can even vary. They're often the bits on the edge of the hides that are not used and can be thinner and have a more sporadic grain to them. But ask for samples for sure.

Thanks Butte. I'll have to do that. I read on some of Jans's jackets that he requested that they "Please select the thickest and stiffest skins available" maybe that would help here.
