the neck test used to work for me when i was thinner, but when i gained weight my neck didn't keep up with my waist (THANK GAWD!) and so it doesn't work for me anymore it was so handy when it did!

The around the neck thing works for me, saves a lot of time too

In Australia we call them op (opportunity) shops


If I thought of all the vintage stuff that goes out I would lose my mind, forget this "think globally, act locally" stuff. I try to keep regular contact with as many shops as possible.

I keep a spreadsheet of shops. How sad is that?

Mind you, it does come in handy during the Melbourne Lindy Exchange for shopping tours.
