Actually I've been noticing more young men wearing ties. Specifically skinny ties.

But seriously, I recall heavy set men wearing narrow pants back in the `60s. Sure like then , these fashions favored the young & lean. Its jsut not for the babyboomer generation anymore.

Last week I walked through Rockefeller Ctr. and saw a guy wearing a TB styled outfit. The jacket skirt and pant hem was a bit short for my taste but the overall fit/style was impressive.
The guy definitely owned the look.

The Thom Browne suit elicits strong reaction

I remember an article in the September Esquire, where a writer wore one of his suits...it was a interesting to hear about the reactions he got. Granted this was not the more conventional Brooks Bros line (which probably has some nice stuff).

I see the TB suit with the super tight pants that are hemmed above the ankles with no socks (there is a strict set of rules that goes along with the suit) and I have to laugh. But, to each his own.

Some people are comfortable and look better in certain cuts than others.

I will never get why he markets his clothing that way. Wouldn't he get better exposure if he showed everything properly sized and hemmed? [huh]

I agree with the marketing comment.
What I like about Browne is he has an idea and is running with it. I think the extreme cut of his clothes have helped ease the narrow cut suit back into popular consciousness.

Short pants

I remember buying pants when I went to law school in Virginia. They cuffed them substantially higher than what I was used to up north. They swore by the style. I never cottoned to it, no pun intended, but I do like the late-50s/early 60s cut of some of the suits in this thread.
