This or That

Stanford -- one of my cousins is a researcher there.

Short or Tall?
Being that I'm 5'7" I admit to having a bit of a bias in favor of being shorter, particularly in terms of buying clothes as I can always size up a little if I can't find anything in my exact size.

Short or tall, big or small, John Paul fits them all!
(advertising jingle for a long-defunct tailor shop that is indelibly burned into the brain of any Mainer over 45)

Short -- because when there are a lot of short people in the audience, they don't block the view of the people in front of them.

Maypo or Wheatena?

Maypo -- maple-flavored oatmeal. Pushed in the sixties by an irritating commercial: "I want my Maypo!"
Wheatena -- roasted ground wheat cereal, served hot. Wheat mush, basically. Throw some salt on it and it's extremely fortifying on a winter morning.

1915. I have the program. It sounds even better than the 1939 one. My grandmother would have been seven years old when she went to it. My mother was two when they went to the 1939 Exposition.

With the price of gold these days I don't even want to think about how much this $50 gold coin from the Pan-Pacific International Exposition is going for!
