If you knew nothing else, you would know to answer Blondie from the above cartoons, but being familiar with them, definitely, Blondie. Always thought she was too good for Dagwood.

"The Lost Weekend" or "Leaving Las Vegas?"

Audrey. She was absolutely the fulcrum on which "The Honeymooners" balanced -- by far the strongest, most no-nonsense TV housewife of her generation. With a lesser actress, the program would have deteriorated into cheap cartoonery -- as anyone who remembers the post-Meadows Gleason shows of the sixties can well attest. With her, it was sublime tragi-comedy.

Ralph Kramden or Reggie Van Gleason III?

The Lost Weekend- if for no other reasons than shots of the Third Avenue El...

Glad I'm not the only one who watches movies for things like that. I lived on Third Avenue for seven years in a 1920s apartment that was right where the El ran (and we found some old photos of the building with the El going by). Since the apartment wasn't quiet with just the street traffic, I can't image the racket that made going by.

Franks (conceptually, in the day, more authentic - or I'm talking out my b*tt)

Egg Cream or Root Beer Float?

(and I'm not sure on the ice-cream - yes, Friendly's - especially their sundaes - are very good, but Hojo's Buttercrunch is something very special)

edit add: my grandmother loved Friendlys - she loved their hamburgers and their ice-cream. And it was kinda odd as she wasn't a go-out-to-eat person, but she loved Friendlys.

Mallow cups vs. Valomilk

(and the biscuit comparison was meant to reflect a biscuit-based strawberry shortcake or a sponge-cake-based strawberry shortcake as those are the two main types)
