And we cannot forget the Fuller Brush man. In my home town the local dry cleaning shop would deliver and pick up, so we had the Dry Cleaning man also.
Hi Steve, that's another "man" that I forgot about that was also part of the rhythm of life back when I was growing up .
We even had these two guys aside from the garbage man who would come by your house and pick up all your edible
garbage.
We had this hole in the ground that was cement lined ,in that went a "slop" bucket with a handle that folded over and a
big heavy "foot step" lid that covered it .
You stepped on the tongue part of the lid ,it would open and in would go the scraps.
Man you could smell their truck a block away if the wing up right and I always assumed they were pig farmers hence the scraps.
