Thinking Of Getting A New Jacket

I've been contemplating getting a horse or steer patrol style jacket, as I like their rugged individualism appeal. I was checking out Lost Worlds offerings...I'll have to take a look at Aero's too. Input is welcomed - thanks!

I recently got myself a Taylor's Leatherwear "Chicago" police jacket that's VERY nice for a mere $199 (plus $25 to shorten the sleeves; no tax, free shipping, and it arrived in three days). Not comparable to Lost Worlds or Aero creations, of course, but it's a real police jacket, it's tough and warm... and it will outlast ME!

Check out the FACTORY BLOW OUT SALE pages:

(I've been meaning to post about this, I need to have my son take some pictures of me wearing it.)

Again, I'm not claiming this is a premium specialist jacket - if you can go for something from Lost Worlds and Aero, enjoy! (alas, I'm currently on a low budget) - but it's better than I was expecting... considering this is the least I've paid for a new leather jacket since the 80s!

Aero is now making their "C.H.I.P's" jacket again and it looks pretty damn nice!
I own a Langlitz Columbia (CHP style jacket) and I like it very much. Mine is the classic cross zip but I know that they can also make the jacket with a straight front zipper, more like the Lost Worlds and Aero offerings. Langlitz customer service is some of the best I've ever experienced.
I previously owned the Vanson CHP and that is a really solid jacket as well. I found the Vanson to be a little rougher around the edges when it came to seams and stitching, but if anything that only makes it feel more rugged and authentic. The competition weight cowhide Vanson uses feels like armor.
I would also suggest that you check out Cal Leathers. Their LAPD patrol jacket is a classic and I am sorely tempted to buy one myself even though I already have the Langlitz version.
There are many good options out there to choose from, have fun picking one!
