Well, good argument! I agree with you but still I feel highly uncomfortable with the assumption that an object could really project a different image of yourself, I mean "for real"....
Ok, a "badass jacket" coould be...but if you are a sloppy nerd you can buy all the "badass jackets" of the world without moving an inch from your sloppy soul...
I am half jocking of coruse, but only half....working in the fashion field I am surrounded by posers and I do not see anything interesting anymore in posing

I am just talking about the jacket itself.

I don't imagine owning or wearing nearly half of the badass jackets I see nor do I expect a badass jacket to make me look cool , I just appreciate how said jackets happen to look.

Yes, of course. I am just wondering, like a cheap philosopher, whether an object can have a soul in itself or whether it is instead impossible to separate it from its owner...but I got your point

Maybe a Lewis Lightning, super cool rockstar jacket and iconic and recognisable design. I feel really cool when wearing mine and it's gotten the most attention out of my collection although it is in an eyecatching colour.

" Badass " does not have to be a state of being or a way of acting...etc which then is having to be applied to an inanimate object.
It's just a way to describe a jacket in itself being very appealing.

All but 2 of my jackets came off Ebay and were sold to me via pictures of just the jackets themselves on a hanger or torso mannequin...etc, I was buying the appeal of nothing but the jacket itself.
Just as I would buy a vintage hand tool a vintage knife or a vintage airgun to feed my other man hobbies, the object itself either appealed to me or it didn't.
Yes I had to consider my wearing of the jacket, but as long as the jacket appeals to me and isn't anything too wild that really stands out I'm buying it.
I'm not expecting to become cool looking, just to enjoy wearing it.
