The Tilley TM10 and TM11 hats have fedora-esque crowns.

"Esque" being stressed, but still!

For those who are turned off by the standard Tilley, they began making the TM10 and TM11 lines last year (as far as I can discern) and the crowns have a teardrop "bash" (I use the term loosely). Here's a picture of a TM10 where you can see it:

Apparently, they're the only two Tilley models that do not have the flat-top bucket look, so if that's what was stopping anybody from purchasing a Tilley before, here's an alternative look.

God that's awful.

Aw. But they're trying!

I actually have a TM11 for yardwork / Jersey shore activities. I know the Tilleys aren't aesthetically pleasing to every eye, but it's very hard for me to resist their indestructibility and lifetime guarantee.

The true story about the gentleman in Africa (or was it India?) who had his Tilley eaten and... passed by an elephant (twice!) is hilarious. The hat is still perfectly fine. It just needed to be washed very thoroughly.

I kinda like it. Sure, it's not a Montecristi Panama, but it can take the rain a whole lot better during a 5-mile hike. And unlike just about all the other "breezer" hats I've seen out there, this one still allows for ventilation while keeping the sun off a follically challenged pate such as mine. ;)
