I showed my SPED class some vintage Three Stooges shorts the other day(called it 'Historical Cinema' for the record ;) ) and was blown away by how many SWEET fedoras there were! Being made in the 30`s almost everyone in the background(as well as the supporting cast)was sporting a classy lid.One episode took place in a tailor/cleaner`s shop and I had to scene back/freeze just to admire all those vintage suits, jackets and fedoras in the background.

Very cool(and now you have an excuse to re-watch the Stooges!!) :D

Always have loved the Stooges. I haven't seen them in a number of years, though--AMC dropped them from their programming schedule. :(

Really? When? I was actually referring to their old evening time, when they were on right around dinner. Occasionally I do see them on in the mornings, but I think it's only one or two episodes. This is really getting a bit :eek:fftopic: from hats... I'll need to rewatch them so I can truly appreciate all the wonderful vintage dress.

Did your mom try to keep you from watching Stooges when you were growing up?Mine did.She was concerned that we would try and imitate their physical comedy. LOL

Right,mom...I`m liable to run a saw blade over my sister`s scalp.

Three Stooges are the fedoras of the classic slapstick genre, like you said,Pilot99!

Derbys, toppers, fedoras, newsboys, all were marvelous.

Thanks. Seems to me I recall Curly wearing a skunk skin cap, complete with a rising tail. Perhaps a little too silly for this group, but it brings a smile to my face 50+ years after I first saw the episode.lol

"Oh, wise guy, eh?" (Moe, followed by a nose tweak, belly chop, and a 2 X 4 to the back of Curly's head.)

Considering the rough nature of the Stooges act, I wonder how many perfectly good hats were destroyed? Or maybe hats of yesteryear were truly durable? That's what I want--a Stooge-proof hat.

I, too, am such a lover of hats that I will focus on them to the exclusion of the film. For that reason, I caught Mullholland Falls for the fourth time last night to finally watch the movie!

Nothing is indestructable.
