Thanks, Lefty. I collect Stratoliner memorabilia and I didn't even know that this ad existed. Bought it along with the Stetson ad that corresponds with one of my avatars (the one now in use). Will indeed post a scan when I get it! Thanks again.

OK Strat owners, hypothetically speaking if a Stratoliner is supposed to be a 7 1/4 but measures 23" would it fit a 7 1/2 noggin? I'm really having trouble finding this hat for my collection.

I'd be leary of that. I find that Stetsons for me, have run a little smaller than other brands. I normally wear a 7 1/8 but the Strat I have is a 7 1/4 and fits very well.

Mark G is correct. Stetson size seems to run smaller than other brands in my experience. I have two that are stated 1/4 and both are smaller than my other 1/4 hats from other hat makers

Sage Green Premier Stratoliner

Here are some photos of the Stratoliner I purchased from Johnnyphi's auction.

This is definitely one of the finest if not the finest hat I own.

The pin was added by me.

I love the intentionally unlined hats. That strat, unlined, in green, at premier grade, with the pin is one of the nicest and rarest beasts - and you are one of the luckiest guys - on the Lounge. Congrats.

Thank you for you for your kind words gentlemen. I am fortunate to have a fairly common head size which makes things much easier to find. No I haven't found a box for this one yet, but I am on the lookout.

I was asked if I had information on this hat. I checked with the New York office to little avail. I'm not sure if this ends the debate about the plane but I found this in our library. Some of you may have this book and have already mentioned this.

I don't know if that answers the question, but the logo in the crown is fantastic.

That answers what was on her hat, which does indicate that the hat probably came with that pin. While all of the evidence is pointing in that direction , I wouldn't say that it's certain.
