Nice one, and looks to be a Laloo style 100. Is it a 3.5” brim? Another great snag, looks hardly worn!
Thanks man! It's a 3.25 brim and 5.5 crown. It looks to have had a simple center crease for most of it's life and the felt is clean! Nice smooth hand to it. It's a nice felt to poke, seems a lot easier to shape compared to other 100's from this time period. I have a Beaver 100 ( Im about to sell) and it is stiffer than this one. Amazing how they compare.

It’s a little shy to be a Laloo clone, but still a great 100 either way. Thanks for the comparison, the side by side thread could use a similar post with a few of your excellent lids… no pressure ;)

Roger that. When I finish my big move I’ll be sure to commit a bit more to posts on here. A majority of my hats are now packed away till I’m a west coaster in about 3 weeks. I have a catalogue or two I need to photograph and post as well!

1960s version with 5 1/2” open crown and 2 5/8” bound brim. No mention of Open Road on the hat, but that’s the style. At 6 7/8 the slightly smaller proportions look great to my eye. No box with this one and no labels behind the sweatband.

It might be from the 1960s, but it has great clay-like felt that is a joy to work with. It easily accept a dry crease on a fence post.

5-3/4" Crown
2-3/4" Brim
3/8" Ribbon
3/16" Binding (symmetric)
148g Weight

Sewn in liner, but no labels behind the sweat. Just a mark for centerline and handwritten size. Manila cardstock keyhole type tag.

Interesting read on Hubert Cokes on some billiards forums. Link to one example:

Stetson 100 won in eBay auction 2 days ago. Only bid on it because I suspect it's an earlier 100. These are seller's pics, will post more when hat arrives.

More pics of my new Stetson 100, now that it's arrived. It is indeed an early 1950's 100, and has onionskin liner cover, as well as old style mfg tags, and stars in both sweatband and liner logos. 2 3/4 inch brim. Maybe best of all, even though it has a size 7 tag, I can wear it as is. Perhaps it was stretched through wearing over the years. This hat is a textbook example of what an early 50's Stetson 100 is supposed to look like.

Yes, I think you got a very nice one there. If you fall into a later 100 with a plastic liner you’ll immediately notice a difference.
