I need some vintage pants to wear these 40s jackets. Don't know anything about the jacket.

If you want some inexpensive high rise trousers, try miltary stuff of the WWII to Korean War timeframe, or the 60s Danish Civil Defense trousers in a flannelized darker mid grey wool (very conservative cut, like mid-40s; probably melton wool with reprocessed fibers in it, but looks mottled like flannel). PM me if you don't know where to start searching.

When I hear Spitfire I think of WWII. Back in the day, who would have worn this jacket? Pretty much a Civilian imitation Military look? It's an oddity, but also very wearable. Not sure If I have worn it out.

PM me if you don't know where to start searching.

Thanks for the info!

Talon zip dates mid-late 40s. My guess is early post-WWII when manufacturers started advertising cheap versions of pseudo-A-2 flight jackets as "bomber jackets". Regardless, this is just another cossack jacket design. Cossack jackets (waist length jackets with or without knits and button or zip front) were popular in the 20s-40s. It's actually the military designs A-1 and A-2 that are the "imitations", if you will. The civilian ones came first, and there was an endless number of them. Civilians, messenger pilots etc., lots of people wore them.
Cossack jackets were made in grain leather, suede and textile versions. Out of the surviving pre-WWII specimens, for some reason I see the suede versions more often than the others, although more often than not in pretty bad condition.
