I like such ties. You can pair them up with busy shirts and use them to dress up an otherwise dressed-down day. I've seen them in old Esquire magazines so they are vintage.
But who makes them now (at a good price)? I think of them as low-end. Rather like the silk knot cufflinks, so it's hard to justify $100 (see the Tie Economics thread).
