The Search: Hat Bands & Crown Size

Howdy. Im new here so excuse me for any redundancy.

Two things Id like advice on, if possible:

1) Where will I find the best selection of hat bands? I feel this make irk some fedora purists, however, Im new to the hat world, currently only owning one Dobbs.

2) With hats being so personal, why is it so hard to find a website that includes all pertinent info such as crown height and brim length? For example, I know that no hat looks good on me unless the brim is 2" and the crown no taller than 4.5". Yet companies are losing my business because they dont provide this info. Where online do you suggest?

Good question. Probably the only people in the world that even know why crown height might be important are here on the Lounge so that is why almost no hat seller has (or even knows) this information about their hats!

I'll bet that is right. The only way to get help is to talk to them in person. I rarely see such information on a store website.

But that sort of correlations are pretty weak - and in many cases useless - because so many variables are part of the equation. Even though it may be hard for some to find a brick-n-mortar hat-shop, it's always best to try different styles on. To find the best hat from pictures and tables is almost like trying to find the most delecious cake among a duzin - just from pictures of the cakes
