I've got the Knox made hat up on the 'Bay right now. If it fit me I'd keep it as it has a lot going for it. Looks like it may have been refurbished at some point.

The Transatlantic trade is still going and this hat was part of it. Kindly provided by @M Hatman (thanks Mark).
Knox Premier Westlite in silverbelly. Size 56 with the bound brim at a generous 7cm and hte crown at 11cm at the center dent. The felt on this one is stellar. Shapes easily and holds without steam and the hand is smooth and soft. High quality hat. I have another Westlite in the collection, which is also a fine hat, but not as good as this one. Weighs 125 grams. and has that really cool Knox windcord button.

Knox, Knox, Knoxing on Heaven's Door 'cause I'm flying in the clouds!
Head shot is accurate for the color.

I really dig the teardrop crease. I played around with some of my hats trying to make one, but the loss of crown height in the back always scared me off. Glad to have one pre-bashed and well done. Crown is 5" in the front and 3 5/8" in the rear. 2" brim; 2" ribbon.
image2-3.jpeg

Nautical flag pin. Black dot on yellow field. As a letter spelling out a message it reads "I" as in "India" - as a single flag it means "altering course to port"

60's style factory label. I guess it could also be as "new" as the 70's, but it would be seriously "old fashioned" by then.

Knox Edge. Brim is very soft and pliable.

Depending on the hat.. the rakish look.. lower in the back can be very striking.

This black Knox homburg is an interesting one. The felt is thin and soft and not the firmer felt often found on homburgs. The real interesting part is the “Sizor” sizing feature. I’ve done a Google search it The Lounge and can’t find a mention of it.

I think it's a splendid homburg. Knox seemed to understand what a homburg was supposed to be and knew how to make it: a hat with authority. The thinner felt is something that pops up on homburgs now and again, but not often. I wonder if they just used lighter felts intended for other hats, to meet demand or fill in an order.
