1930s (I believe) Knox soft hat from Raleigh Haberdasher in Washington, DC. Blue/black felt with a rolled unbound edge in the homburg curl. Midnight blue and purple liner and uncommon black sweatband give the hat a formal appearance. Large for me, but will be wearable with a deep center dent and side pinches on a windless day.

Why do I get the feeling that I'll start getting calls about this as well Alan?

Based on some of my hats that has the lines and look of a 60s slim brim. How is the felt easy to mould, stiff or claylike? It has a lot going for it, stitched in liner (not glued), wind trolley. Overall a nice Knox. Wear it in style!

Well, after wearing this hat around and playing with it during a long day of meetings.....it is indeed easy to mould and VERY claylike. I rebashed it 3-4 times , crown crease and pinches. Ended up with a tighter center crease and very tight pinches......this would be a good hat to bring to a doctors office!!!

Great find Eric, love the pristine survivors, they make the hunting worthwhile. Congrats. I've found green to be an extremely versatile match with most of my clothing

Here is my Knox "Americana"......late 60's maybe......origional $21 price tag inside......first picture is pretty true to the color....it is actually a really nice felt. It did need a good reblocking and I re-flanged the brim bact to where it should be.

What material is the hat made of?
The seller wasn't sure , is rabbit and what does Premier mean? is it the quality or the name of the hat?

I saw one being sold as 100% wool as stated by the seller with a question mark.
He wasn't sure of what it was made from.

Oh, yeah, it's fur felt, for certain, not wool. It's at likely rabbit/hare. Any beaver content (if any), however, is uncertain.
