Borsalino Peluche

Since it means Plush, I guess they can interpret as desired.

Optimo Backdiamond

just got this from the bay.
This is both the softest felt I've ever handled and the longest hair on the finish.
It's currently too big so it has to go out to get resized.

Gary White made this one. He called it a Scratch finish. Does this mean it could be considered longhaired???
Sand color, 70% mink, 30% beaver.

Stetson Gun Club

a short long hair :)
fished this out of the bay. Needs to be cleaned and reblocked.
Interesting hat. Very soft felt. Doesn't really want to hold a shape. I'll see what some steam can do to it

Lloyd, is that really a stetson? I have never seen one like this. I really like the mix of fiber colors. I would wear this hat, nice. Not your average hat. I think the short longhairs have a lot of style and class.

Yes, it's really a Stetson. I've never seen one like it either. Although I think it's close to Optimo's flecked felt. I'll let you know on that when I get the samples from Graham. I fell in love with this felt as soon as I saw the auction pics. Now depending on the felt swatches I may have to buy an Optimo to satisfy the cravings.

I think that's one of the coolest 50's Stetsons that I've ever seen! That ribbon is so cool and unusual, I would have never even thought to pair it with a grey longhair felt. Excellent!! :eusa_clap:eusa_clap

Here's my contribution to the long hair club.

It started life as a more Alpine looking hat, but I changed the crease and replaced the rope hatband with grosgrain. I still have to get around to moving the bow more forward.

Just arrived, 1960's Resistol Eddie Bauer very long finish felt in charcoal gray, pheasant feather band, brim 2" w/ underwelted edge, crown 5 1/2" open 4" as creased. Came with badly crumpled center crease crown, mishapen brim, and several feathers torn loose. However, sweatband and liner appear mint, unworn and not a moth bite or nibble one!

Gave her the quick bash into a teardrop with a wet towel and brushed the felt and feathers. This is the deepest finish felt hat I have ever seen, like a fine plush teddy bear. Very soft warm hat will be great for winter. Once again, simply reshaping the crown of a neglected relic yields a very sharp and super comfy hat.

I just realized that I never posted any of my currently and formerly owned longhairs in this thread. Plus its due for a much needed BUMP!
