3X Cascade in mink that I got for Christmas. (rhanks Mom! )
It came from a local vintage shop owned by a friend, who had found it in pretty rough shape. I offered to give it a surface clean and a reshaping to make it more sellable. After much steam, sponging, and a bit of elbow grease I took out the crooked fedora crease it had, ironed and reshaped the brim, and gave it a little Gus. A Gussy, maybe?
In the process, I really came to like the hat. I mentioned that I might go buy it, but Mom beat me to it. :) I was suspecting it was her, but still was surprised to get it.

Approximately 6 1/2 inch open crown, 5 1/4 in back, 4 1/2 in front as creased. 3 3/8 inch brim. 212 grams. The felt is very sturdy with a nice hand, and unlike a couple of other, maybe later 3X Resistols i have had before, doesn't bleed dye at the slightest bit of moisture. Very happy!

Looks like a Biltmore made for Resistol. The style is common with Biltmore, but we don’t see a lot of hats made by them under license from Resistol. I’d guess late 1960s if there was any Byer-Rolnick branding, but the style makes me think 1970s or ‘80s.
Thank You I appreciate it . It does say Byer -Rolnick at the bottom of the crest . Inside the band says made in Canada , under license. I have a Stetson playboy 2 same furry look in a rust color .

My new to me Resistol 5X, refurbed by Scott (new sweat). He did a GREAT job on the crease...I feel NO need to re-crease it!;)

Felt is soft and simply awesome.....is one of those changing color felts that had different flecks of fur throughout......almost heathered. In some lights, light grey, other lights a tannish grey.....I have only a few hats with felt like this one.

I of course added a wind cord (which in this photo looks like a miss-match due to light refraction, in person it looks just right).

:)
