The Resistol Roundup

Ed @Desert dog pointed out in the New Hats thread that this was a Resistol in Knox clothing. Probably after they were under the same umbrella.

While not a Resistol, I felt this was the place to post. I came across this hat and was unaware, but not surprised, that Byer-Rolnick made hats for the Oleg Cassini fashion brand.

A first for me anyway. So much still left to learn.

Seller has it for $51.50 including free shipping to the US (might accept an offer too).

That is interesting, thanks for posting it. It would make a nice planters hat. I have seen Larry Mahan hats, made by Byer Rolnick. It seems strange that the Byer Rolnick name continued to be used, after it was no longer used by Resistol. I wonder if Koracorp purchased Resistol but not the Byer Rolnick name, and yet contracted to others licensed to use the name. Another Resistol mystery to unravel!

Koracorp had bought Byer-Rolnick Company in 1967 so if they bought the company, they probably bought the name.

as for the Resistol I posted earlier on page 74 I wanted to mention that 0818 is the reorder number for the hat but i don't know if its an alphanumeric number and i just can't read the Letter if its just 0818

As for the liner it is not a pleated liner that I can tell or if it was it just doest appear to be any more

I will load my "open road" which isn't one I find out in the stetson area if there is one.
Interesting info I got from Az-Tex hats about that one

Over time I have found it is easier to send a message to one or two guys who might be interested in the hat, and ask if they know anyone interested.

What is the difference between posting publicly and sending a pm through the grapevine? Maybe in the end the private message rewards those who post and show more interest, I guess a market affect of sorts.

Daniel

Am I allowed to give a website address in the forum? I just thoughts it’s awesome and I don’t think one should lose out

Ok so last question...I got to the side bar to see forums and I didn’t find the one mentioned above or the conversion forum I see people metion. I search but I don’t get the forum only the threads
People make comment and answers in. So, how do I found tge actual resistol round up or the conversion corner etc without linking to it from a thread?

Perhaps I'm the one confused but I think there may be some misunderstanding in use of terminology. You currently are in "The Resistol Roundup" which is one of many threads in the Apparel --> Hats forum. "The Coversion Corral" is another thread located here as well. Think of it as a folder/file organization system.

To see a list of forums, click "Forums" at the top of the page. I doubt, however, this will be of much use as specific content is located in dedicated threads. How you find/access a thread can be done in multiple ways. After you click on "Forums" you can, for example, click on "Hats" which is found in "Apparel." It is within here that you will find the threads listed above. The most recent active thread is listed first and proceeds in reverse chronological order.

Alternatively, if you click "New Posts" at the top of a page it shows the latest posts across the entire site, regardless of forum. I personally like this best because my interests are varied, and don't have to go to each separate forum for specific content.

The native search functionality within the site (the little magnifying glass in the upper right) is not the greatest as many people here will attest. It does have its uses, but to me it is not all that intuitive to use. The hits that you get back are often not what you are looking for, and it limits it to I believe the most recent (200) records. Instead, do a Google search but also include "thefedoralounge" or "fedora lounge" etc. Similarly, if you first search "thefedoralounge" the first hit that Google returns is the site, and it then allows you to do a search just within the site right from that hit. So for example, Google "conversion corral fedora lounge." It will be the first hit.

Hopefully this helps.
