My understanding is NO. Rainbow Country are not as expensive and not as refined from my understanding- a lower tier. Although they are still very nice and are made of Shinki.

I've heard both. I have heard that they are on par and I have heard they are slightly of less quality. I have never been able to tell the difference as far as stitching quality.

I think Blackadder has experience with both. I would like to hear what he thinks.

Both made great jackets. Stitching and workmanship are on par. I think RM usually added an extra layer of dye/paint to their leather jacket which makes the costs higher. If however, you like grainy leather, a new RC will look more attractive than a new RM.

I think Ismael said something about RC and Freewheelers are made from the same factory but RC used same leather but RC does not have the same "finishing touch". I guess RC also lacks RM's "finishing touch". But then it depends on whether you like that "finishing touch". I have heard comments that the top coat paint masks the grain and as some here said makes it look too shinny/plastic. There is also the different opinions on RM asking Shiniki to remove any imperfections of the leather by roller or something.

An old thread if you want a closer look at a RC.

for an A2, it isn't really that short. The shirt is sort of long, so that makes it look more exaggerated.

It makes it down to my belt, I thought that was wear A2 jackets were supposed to be.

It's short. Probably too short unless you wear your shirt tucked in and zipped (exposed belt is fine). At the same time, you only live once and it's a fine jacket.

Guess it is. Well, be on the lookout for a great deal in the classified section in the near future possibly...

I don't know.

We had a long discussion somewhere on one of these threads recently about how flight jackets in the 1930's were designed to be worn with high-waisted pants, so repro flight jackets always seem short to guys who are only used to wearing modern pants sitting on their hips, not their waists.
We also had a really long chat about how shirt tails out make flight jackets look 'wrong' because they are short jackets (and there was a whole 'tucked and untucked thread IIRC).

As for Dude's jacket, without full-length photos taken with his arms down, whilst wearing some pants that sit on the waist rather than the hips, it's difficult to tell[huh]

In fact, that jacket looks a lot like one I sold on eBay recently.

I'll get more pics tomorrow. I never thought of it being too short before now. It would help to not be holding the camera haha.

Dude, if it is the jacket I sold, people are gonna say I'm biased, but it seems fine to me.
Like a lot of other people have said on the Lounge, when I got my first A-2 I was shocked at how short it was, and was always really paranoid about it, and then I learned that my 'modern' pants were too low, and my untucked shirts made my jacket look really short. Like a lot of other people, this is what got me into vintage clothing/jeans because modern jeans on the hip wasn't a good look.
Later when I've had a shower, I'll take a picture of my size 50 Aero (with 1 inch extra added to the length!) to show how bad this can look with the wrong pants.

you sell it on ebay to someone in california? That's where I got it haha. I thought it seemed fine too, to be honest.

From my personal experience the sizing descriptions are very often incorrect at superdenim, ordered a Peacoat and sent it back due to the sleeves being too short though the website stated it was my length. Wasn't refunded on the shipping cost back. So it's better to call them or chat with them online to double-check. As for Rakuten, prices are lower there but there are import duties to some countries which could make the purchase pretty expensive. And size varieties, at Rakuten there are rarely 44 or bigger.

Well, the sizing on this WAS accurate to the seller's description. Again, I am still happy with the length. I'll take more pics with the shirt tucked in.

Since it's come up, I recently came into possession of a load of used RMCJapan jackets. They are all way too small for me (Grrr! lol ) so I thought I'd just put them on eBay, but eBay has a limit on how much I can list each month, and they want a 10% cut (!).
I'll put some in the classifieds on the Lounge when I get round to inspecting and photographing them.
