Check out this thread..........https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/dating-vintage-stetsons-by-size-tag.46483/
That liner was used clear into the 90's as well......\
I have at least two Stetsons I bought new before and around 1980 that did not have metric tags.....
Still, even a OR Stetson from after 1980 is still a nice find....
When did they start making them with the much firmer felt? This one is soft and pliable and doesn't appear to have been worn much.

In the mountains, of course.
I already posted my NOR earlier, but this is my first hat stamped “The Open Road”

Much much better pics in this thread. It shows that hue i just love to see on those vintage Stetsons. It looks like it could be a 7X CB or even a soft old 100.
Outstanding!!

It is a Twenty-Five.... and sold for said amount.
So no 7X or 100.
A 7X CB would sell for $40 when introduced and then standardized to $50 for a long time. A 100 sold for $100 when introduced and carried that price for a long time....

Thanks @M Hatman.
I do know that. I have all of them including this one.
I was just referring to the “look”. They have a certain “look”.

Not a problem.

Good stuff!!

Anyone know the name and era of this Stetson Fedora. Just picked it up for $24 online. Original pricetag still in it. View attachment 220716 View attachment 220717 View attachment 220718

This thread is dedicated to the Stetson Open Road, which your hat is not (but not to worry).

I don’t know how many of the dating guides are applicable to your hat, and we don’t have a lot of resources for mid 1960s and later hats. Are there any tags or labels hidden anywhere on the hat? A location of manufacture perhaps?
