I just got a Shudde Bros. Open Road clone. I don't know anything about who they were when they made their hats etc. Can anyone enlighten

me? Also, is there a source that can help me in dating my hat?

basbol13, there is some info scattered about the lounge on Shudde Bros. but not too much in one specific place. The easiest way to search is through Google ending your query with fedora lounge. Shudde Bros. still operates in the Houston area but I don't think they make hats anymore.

At one time they did R&R work for Stetson.As "Bama said,there is more info here but my memory says if it was an R&R deal,the back of the sweat was stamped "RENSH".

Early 1950s(?) Royal Stetson Open Road in dark gray. Since it came from the same seller, it must have been the stablemate to Anthony's museum-quality Premier Strat. I've been after one in this color for some time.

This is the hat as creased. Not sure if I will change it or not. I usually like to wear it a time or two and then decide.

Thanks Robert @40Cal . I wonder if the seller is a collector or just liquidating an estate? He sold some really special hats in the past few days. LOVE that Mallory Ten of yours! Just a killer hat.

I just went back and looked at his descriptions of the various hats he was selling and he seemed to know a good deal about hats. Very interesting.

You're right. Knows about hats like someone that collects . Maybe he just has too many hats.... haha , not possible. I hope he decides to sell a few more!

He had some real nice and fairly rare hats for sale. Lotts of $$$ went his way.
