Yeah, that's a special one.
My last
Beautiful examples of the 7XCB & the 3XLD the last couple of days, BB! And great photography, I've enjoyed much.
Great find, Daniel! This one is in the mail, a quick negotiation with the seller for a BIN. Mid-40s on the Royal Stetson DeLuxe? It will need a cleaning from Ignacio in Mexico City; he’ll get it like new.
Looking around, it appears to be one of the earliest Open Roads I can find.

Great find, Daniel!
Thanks! I am pretty excited about it, I’ve got quite a few ORs from the 50s and a few late 40s. This one seems like a very early model.
I found this to be interesting as it provides more information than we normally get. This was from what looks to be a 1960-70 hat:

That ol’ sow of yours has found several.
I can tell you're livin' high on the...rib.Yeah, it’s breeding and training and it’s something unknown. Lots of folks ask why my sow has only three legs? So I have to tell’ em that any hog that good, you only eat one ham at a time.
It could be earlier. Stetson reported using “The Open Road” in commerce as early as 1920.
