Not sure if you are poking fun?
I doubt he is poking fun. If I choose to buy a stetson the outlet is the way I will go. Full price is just outrageous. If I recall 6X puts that hat over $200 new. Great deal for $55. You need to do a follow up review after a few weeks to let us know how its holding up. What kind of brim does that have? 2.5" or 3"?

Gotcha, just hard to tell over text sometimes. I will surely let you guys know, and I will give the brim a measure when I get home. From eyeballing and feel though, I'd say definitely closer to 2.5"

Just checked. 2.5" brim. Also now keeping an eye out for size 7 OR style hats for the girlfriend. She caught the bug and I'm paying for it

I struggled with this mid to later fifties Royal deLuxe truing to get the crown right for a while and was just never happy. It got to where it just sat in the closet. I have had a desire for a cattleman crease and thought I'd give it a whirl with this hat and low and behold, that's what it wanted.

I've never really worn a cattleman crease but I think I'll give it a go. It's really common here.

I think it looks awesome Roger
Love the brim curl
That hat has a true OR feel
Looks right at home on your head

the earliest Open Roads were wide ribbon hats

but it is nice to see thin ribbons from back that far
I know.....but look at that hat.......dimensions, ribbon treatment, bound edge......an early open road style (as we now know it for the past 60 or so years) by another name......what is the Shakespeare quote....."a rose by any other name".....
M
Thin ribbons go way back..........the army issued a thin ribbon hat back in the 1850's......
