Ive seen this pop up a couple of times. An apron for the 'stout woman' 44-48 bust.
$45 *whatever*!

LD

I'm not a sewer, but this one floors even me!
Wow! $45 for an apron? Think they were trying to extort a few extra clams due to the size? At that price, I'd wear IT and nuthin else but a pair of peep toes!

I regularly copy that hat dealers photos for future use -she has the BEST hats, and I can never afford them.
Is that Mary Muldoon? My photobucket acct is full of pictures of her hats. I got my green 1940's fedora from her.

I was watching this all week. In the last 30 seconds it jumped from $18 to over $100. :( Too rich for my blood. *le sigh*

Ouch. That's gorgeous. Yeah, things have been kinda crazy expensive out there. It's been awhile since I've purchased a pattern, and I think it will be awhile longer. I have enough to last me.....well.....forever. :) I'm even thinking of deleting my ebay ID.

I really wanted this, cause I dont have a darning egg and I wanted a real vintage one. Shows what I know about glass. It went for $53. There was no way...

Was on the fence about this one, for the entire auction. Was *thinking* about it, so much so, that I looked through my other patterns to see if I have anything like it already.

Not an *exact* match, but its a 48 bust too and it saved me $60 :)

I agree, I like the New York pattern better too! I just got out bid by one dollar for another New Yorker. I hate it that you can't copy pictures from Ebay anymore once the auction is closed. Otherwise I would be posting it here... it aslo had red and white artwork, and was kind of similar to the dress in your pattern! I'd love to copy that! Anything diagonal is very kind to me.

Back on the sighing bench...this one was worth every penny it went for and lots more...i try to find some consolation in the fact that black is bad for me... but it doesn't quite work :).

I was watching that one, too, but deleted it after it hit over my price range :( Totally gorgeous and something you don't see pop up very often anymore. We can commiserate together.

I thought so too but I have saved Ebay pics from finished auctions - click to enlarge the pics (come up into separate window) then Right click the mouse and Save page into your usual folder. Once you have saved the page, you can open it and edit out the bits you don't want.

Well, I can copy the web page isteself and edit it in Dreamweaver and save that as a picture... too much bother.
It's a drag, I used to be able to get great examples of stuff for educational lectures, and now I can't as much. I was able to get the thumbnail off my MyEbay page... this willteach me to snipe as I usually do!

Nah...its easier then that Sara...

open up the 'picture' using enlarge..then right click and view source...

when you read the source code, you can usually spot the picture url (I look for hosting site domains...ie photobucket, etc. as a giveaway for which thing is the image)....and then you grab that...load it in a new window...and then save the picture from there....

(if you don't use the 'enlarged' version...you end up saving the thumbnail...not as useful....)

Unfortunately, the code is way too complicated for me to tell which part is the picture. So I took a pic of it with my phone, on my screen, for future reference!

Those codes always look so intimidating. This is what helped me learn how to do it: Off all the gobbledy-gook in the code, the key to remember, is that photos will end in ".jpg" or ."gif"

Try it with this photo from http://www.hollywoodphotographs.com/ When you right click, the code you'll see (in Properties, or Open Image in New Window) is "http://www.hollywoodphotographs.com/photographs/reg/HSC-084.jpg" That entire code is all you need.

I hope this helps - it will be easier to capture those eBay pics. And I hope you enjoy the photos on the website. (Can't get enough of vintage photos of everyday people.) :)

Yes, I know, but I dont know whether to order from the US, its always such a fuss because I haven't got a credit card, and the shipping. And if I got it right, they dont deliver outside the US?[huh]
Bettie Booh, I live in Sweden too, and got my saddle shoes here: http://www.jigwalk.com/

They're not cheap, but good quality. Jigwalk has great communication and is a Swedish company.
