While not hat advertising.....they certainly make a statement about the fashion trends of the time!;) The first one is dated 1908, and makes fun of the ladies big hats.:D The second one would date from right about the same time, and shows perhaps a practical use of those big hats! Note the nice fedora on the knee......

This is actually a hat advertisment card copyright 1908 by E D Putnam , postmarked 1910. A close examination of the fur table reveals the copyright information along with the title "The Latest in Hats". Hand written note: " Hope you had a pleasant vacation. Couldn't help but think of you in selecting my new hat. Best wishes. E A P"

Well, this ad I had posted earlier intrigued me so much....I just had to see if I could find one of these......And now I have!
The box is rough but largely intact. It has the full instructions for use printed on the label. Also pinted on the label: "Convenient And Effective. Essential to a Gentleman's Outfit" " By occasional application of the Rotary Iron, the hat worth wearing, will always appear new."
The hat Iron is patented 1892 in the U.S.A, Britain, Germany, France, and Belgium.
Well, now I too can keep my hats ironed and neat, looking like new!;)
