Wasn't sure where to share this, but this thread will do. Tonight was the first time I'd seen this photo. The Colonial was the premiere hotel in Springfield, Missouri for years. Built in 1907 (my wife's great-grandfather was the contractor on the project). It was starting to fall on hard times by the early 1960s and shut down in 1978. Several attempts were made to convert it to luxury apartments, but they all failed. It was razed in 1997 and is now a parking lot. We have a couple of brass air-vent grates from the lobby and a few pieces of serving silver and china. The main reason I wanted to post it up was the hat shop shown here. It stayed open until the 1978 closing.
