Love the old ads. There is the "Mallory mADness" thread for Mallory advertising. There was so much of it that I thought it would be nice to have it on it's own.
B

Bill I just loaded a bunch of my Malory stuff on your thread......hope you like them. Will do more when I get to photographing more of the "collection" I have....

Best,
Mark

My new Mallory...
It was listed as "1950-1960" personally I think it's closer to 1950. It has the 1817 date. No model that I can tell other than Manhattan with Sacramento slashed in script under Manhattan.

The brim is a little 'wonky' from being shipped in too small a box so I wear it and try to adjust it from time to time. It should eventually set.

Note the checked ribbon.

It was a lazy center dent with a wide pinch. A gust left over from Hurricane Zeta tried to lift it off backwards as I was entering my Jeep. I caught it and smashed it back down on my head thus the bash. I like it.
I could not resist giving it a tight pinch. No steam on either the tight pinch or the new bash. It's a fine hat.
This only my second vintage hat. The first is a circa 1940 Stetson that photo'd well but was disappointing. The brim was trimmed a little too much and the felt was through at the pinch.
I'm tickled with this Mallory.

Another thing I'm thrilled about with this hat is the color. It's definitely Gray but it will show a brownish hue depending on the light and especially with a brown suit. I'm impressed.

Specs:
5-3/4" Crown (open)
2" Brim (to curl)
2" Ribbon
120g Weight

Has the 1823 date in the beautiful copper colored liner crest, so pre-Stetson takeover according to the generally accepted dating clues for Mallory. The liner was sewn in at one time, though is now attached with tape so possible evidence of a refurbishment at some time. At 7-1/2 this is too big for me, so it will be heading to the Classifieds for sale/trade.

Beautiful hat and a great find. Lightweight too for a homburg of that size.

This old Mallory Century has some condition issues, but it was too cool to not bring home.

5 1/2” open crown and 2 3/4” overwelt brim. The brim welt stitching is fantastic. Unfortunately there is some light moth damage.
