My journey into self will run riot by reshaping a very beautiful Stetson el Presidente when, at the behest, of several smarter than I Flers such as: RBH, Indycop and Justdog etc. I sent the hat to the MAJOR.

There was a dark spot, some what oily at the rear of the hat, that I was not able to clean, or should say I was a little worried to try much more to remove it, because this hat was a $1000.00 hat at any westrn wear store and I didn't want to mess something up.

I asked the owner if he wanted me to pinch the front a little more and was told yes, so later this afternoon will pinch the front some more and ship the hat back to him on Friday.

resistol conversion

I sent a resistol 4X that I had started to convert. It was a regular oval. Mike is going to make it a long oval, retrim the brim, add brim binding and a hat ribbon and bow. I eagerly await the professional conversion. Here are pictures of what I did. I will post the finished product when it arrives.

You shaped that ole hat fine looking, I just hope I can do a nice as job on ribbon and bound edge.

Again nice looking crease in that hat.

Here's my Magic Major Mike story...

I bought a black Stetson Pinnacle that had a different ribbon put on it but it was just too wide for my Thin Ribbon taste & I wanted to bind the edge. I was looking to go 9 ligne for the band & 6 ligne for the edge binding. Mike found underneath the wide ribbon a unique application of glue.

Well the removal of as much of this glue as he could safely do ruled out the 9 ligne but luckily he had the shade, dark taupe, I was looking for in 12 ligne. I've posted these before but here is final product =

El Presidente Deposed

I am happy to say that I got my el Presidente back from Major Mike Moore

I have renamed my new hat The Major

This is an exerpt from an email I sent Mike when I first saw the hat: "Mike I cannot believe my eyes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The craftsmanship, the care, and the design are exquisite."

What this artist has done was bring a new dimension to my wardrobe. His demeanor, price and eye for detail are impeccable. :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
