I thought it was very good!

I would have casted somebody other than Keanu Reeves. His voice just didn't seem to fit his part.

Ooooo, thanks! I LOVE to watch originals and then the American remakes. Kind of a thing of mine. Should start a comparison thread.
Me too! I always find the originals much better! Go figure.
A comparison thread is a great idea!!

Just saw it. I'm such a blubbering sap.

Gotta get that McCartney song. :)

It's one of those types of movies that gives you a real good excuse to do some cuddling....being a blubbering sap is a good thing!

Is that the movie where they live in 2 different time periods and are communicating with each other and fall in love? Hallmark had a similar one a few years ago. I can not remember the name of the movie but it dealt with a man that bought and old antique writing desk and found a hidden compartment. I dont remember how it got started but he started writing to this young lady, who owned the desk, back in the Civil War and they fall in love. I believe that she had written some letters that were not meant for anyone, just kind of a journal in letter form, about not finding the right man. In the end he meets the womans great great grand daughter , who looks just like her, at the womans grave site and they go and get coffee leaving you to believe that they will fall in love and live happily ever after. Good movie. It has been awhile so I maybe a little off on the detail, but that is the jist of the story.

Gray Ghost; yep that would be the one! Only this deals with a house (obviously) and a mailbox. Was the hallmark one done well? I really like how they did this movie, but, for those who have seen this, I thought the one part that didn't quite make sense was when they were basically talking back and forth between time periods seeing about meeting up with each other in the future (I think it was when Sandra Bullock was brushing her teeth [huh] ) Anyway, there was no letter writing.

I felt that it was done real well. It is one that I dont mind seeing again. I love Hallmark movies.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news..

Is The Lake House one of those great movies?

no, haha. The Lake House wasn't one of those movies that sticks in my mind until the end of time. But there ARE a few that have that I later found out were remade from an original, sometimes even two. I can't remember them at the moment though (so much for the end of time :p)
