It's from one of my favorite authors, Jack Finney. Love that story. I own a vhs of the movie, The Love Letter, a freebie: benefit of working at the library and helping customers. Haven't seen it yet.Gray Ghost said:Is that the movie where they live in 2 different time periods and are communicating with each other and fall in love? Hallmark had a similar one a few years ago. I can not remember the name of the movie but it dealt with a man that bought and old antique writing desk and found a hidden compartment. I dont remember how it got started but he started writing to this young lady, who owned the desk, back in the Civil War and they fall in love. I believe that she had written some letters that were not meant for anyone, just kind of a journal in letter form, about not finding the right man. In the end he meets the womans great great grand daughter , who looks just like her, at the womans grave site and they go and get coffee leaving you to believe that they will fall in love and live happily ever after. Good movie. It has been awhile so I maybe a little off on the detail, but that is the jist of the story.

(At first I thought The Lake House was a film version of the James Patterson novel. :eusa_doh: ) I don't care for chick flicks but will wathe The Love Letter because it is Jack Finney. And I liked Somewhere in Time with Teresa Wright.
On the dvd case of The Lake House the original Siworae is cited.
