[emoji4] Thanks, Max.Wonderful liner, Steve. Sometimes I envy European's antique hats availability. Then I remember the weather in Europe and feel at peace again.

Thanks again, Stefan. I'm very pleased with this one. Another Facebook market place find.Nice find, Steve. It does have a substantial crown. It doesn't shy away from what it is. The brim is awesome!
Where the devil are my slippers?Says the guy who spent a month in Spain. Didn't you avoid the rain in Spain? It stays mainly in the plain.
Another great Lees, Stefan. Super liner.T&W Lees in the colour "wolf" (love it already). Size 57 with the bound brim at 6cm and crown 10cm at the center dent. Fantastic hand to the felt and this is het brand at the top of their game. First time I've seen a label like this on one of their hats. The company was founded somewhere around 1875, so that places the hat in the late forties, maybe very early fifties.

Thank you, Daniele. Lees had some flair regarding their colour names: hurricane grey, eventide grey and wolf are ones I know of. Makes me curious about others.A nice English hat with a touch of slight coloristic flair
Another nice Lees, Stefan. Pity it's not my size.T&W Lees of Stockport, England. Fedora in a size 59 (7 1/4 English, 7 3/8 American), with the bound brim at 5,7cm and the crown 10cm at the center dent. Colour is called Ruzeno, which was probably nicked from an Italian manufacturer. A few loose threads and a steaming away from being as good as new.
Thanks, Steve. To my surprise quite a few of them popped up the last few weeks. The one in your size would have been the "wolf" coloured one. That one ran small though (about half a size I'd say).Another nice Lees, Stefan. Pity it's not my size.

Shame, Stefan. I don't have any Lees as yet. Never see them here unfortunately. Thanks, Steve. To my surprise quite a few of them popped up the last few weeks. The one in your size would have been the "wolf" coloured one. That one ran small though (about half a size I'd say).
Great swop, Bill. That is a beautiful British Bowler.I'm trying to date this Scott & Co. derby. Any help would be appreciated. It's my one and only derby. I did not see any tags behind the sweatband.

You know I'll keep looking, Steve. Interesting little fact is that Penny McKnight in her great book "Stockport Hatting" states that they didn't make hats under their own name. The ones I've seen and own seem all to have been made for the European market (including Scandinavian countries by the way). They are out there!Shame, Stefan. I don't have any Lees as yet. Never see them here unfortunately.

That is a cool hat, Bill. I am in general not impressed by the quality of Christy's hats, but I've seen one of these wildfowl hats before and must admit that it was the exception to the general rule.Christy’s of London Wildfowl for work tonight. This is a two color blended felt. The primary color is Eider Green (Eider is a large sea duck) with the secondary color being Woodcock Brown (Woodcock is part of the sandpiper family). I think this is from the 50s but am not sure. The only reference I have found is a sales ad in a newspaper from Sydney Australia dated March 31, 1954.

And now for something completely different... A plywood shipping box lid from Moore's of Denton in February 1960. All of the interesting customs declarations and labels make this an interesting study. The store destination in New York City received 5 Stiff Felt men's hats in black. This was during a Bowler revival beginning in the early 1960s. Fished this one out of the Bay and just thought it was cool. I'm such a hat geek...
