The Golden Era's *ugliest* clothes

I'm not a big fan of this skirt. Reminds me of the prints on 70s maxi dresses. Or maybe Pippi Longstocking?

I think my mother has that pot holder! And in the same fabric pattern she has the 70's answer to a snuggie, which is kind of like a short and odd sleeping bag for half a person.

Hey sheep lady I think I remember my older sister having one of those too it snapped up the front and had a bad patchwork print like the pot holder skirt (only not as bright)

I used to have a pattern picture saved of a maxi-dress from the 1930s. It was DEF a 1930s pattern, but it was drawn like it came from the 70s -- much like that skirt. I think it may have been drawn with paisleys on it. It was a time traveller pattern.

YES!!! That is the 1970's snuggie! (Not that I own a snuggie, but I'm not sure what else it would be called, except weird freakish sleeping bag). I still have my mother's, although I've never been able to figure out how to use it effectively.

I'm not sure which bothers me more, the fact that the jacket looks backwards or the shark fin coming out of her head.

Although both pale in comparison to the toilet paper cover/merengue/Medusa atrocity above. Good lord.

Love this. So WWI home front. Pretty adventurous for 1918! There was a pattern I missed out on that was for one of these outfits.
Would I wear it today? Heck no. lol But to a WWI era event, with pleasure

It seems that early women's pants were embarrassed of themselves and tried to disguise their 'pants-ness' with puffy silhouettes and volumes of fabric. What would they have thought of skinny jeans?!

OMG! The first garment I ever sewed was overalls very similar to the checkered pair, in green floral quilting cotton. UGH! I thought I was so cool. I wore it with a matching floppy hat, a la Blossom.
